some tips on making lettuce last longer

1. Wash and dry lettuce thoroughly and then keep in a sealed bag (or double bag) with a paper towel inside to absorb any excess moisture, expressing as much air out of the bag as you can manage.

2. Do not cut the leaves of the lettuce until you are ready to use it. Where possible always tear
off the leaves as they are needed.

3. Slightly wilted greens can be refreshed for a few minutes in ice water.

By following these simple hints you can prolong the life of a lettuce up to 3 weeks.
